Oh and another edit to add: STORE IMPORTANT SCHOOL WORK IN ONEDRIVE! If this service ends up being rolled out at UCI, you'll have 100free GBs of cloud (in addition to the 15gbs already free). Hopefully you guys don't have to spend too much to go back to school this term! Google docs works, but with a fraction of the functionality and when I used to use it, it often crashed when opened by office.Ī second heads up: you can use limited word and excel via skydrive like how you would use google docs on google drive.
Microsoft office free for students uci software#
That would be super cool! While office is pricey, in my opinion, it's uncontested as the best productivity software suite. So if you're on the fence about grabbing office for school, hold off on the purchase for a little bit! Maybe send oit an email and see if this is going to be rolled out soon. Why on earth would they allow alums, but not current students. My guess is that it'll eventually be opened up to all students and they're working out the kinks in the system. Last night, people at slickdeals reported being able to use or to sign up, but not uci.edu. Actually, last night, when I entered in my ucinet ID, I was taken to a UCI hosted page that said, "UCI Office 365," suggesting that UCI is in the process of making this happen. They changed the webpages since last night when I posted this. I'm not sure if it's working, but here are some links: First link Second link Third link.
